The following is information about the only OFSAA sanctioned Ultimate Tournament. By way of introduction, OFSAA sanctioned Ultimate tournaments have been hosted most years since 1999. Below you will find a list of pertinent information and a link to the UPA's (Ultimate Players' Association) 11th Edition Rules and the registration form for the tournament. This registration form must be filled out in order to clear OFSAA eligibility. Coaches please ensure your players are well aware of the rules of the sport before your arrival to the tournament! Coaches please ensure that ALL OFSAA REGULATIONS are strictly adhered to. Any violation of any OFSAA regulation will result in immediate removal from the tournament (without refund). There can be NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

  • 1 day tournament in Barrie, Thurs. May 20th, 2010 (In the case of significant rain we will use the rain date of Wed May 26th)
  • morning will be round robin pool play to seed teams for afternoon playoffs, all teams enter the tournament with a chance at the championship!
  • each team is guaranteed 6 x 30 min games ... there will be a lot of Ultimate!!!
  • accommodation options have been provided (see list of local college residences & hotels & phone #)
  • water, fruit & bagels will be provided during the competition
  • a small snack bar with mostly unhealthy food will also be in operation (athletes are encouraged to have spending money)

  • fields will be marked with soft plastic cones, there will be no lines!
  • 2 playing fields per soccer pitch will be set up dividing the field in half longitudinally
  • round one of the pool play will begin at 8:30 am sharp, our schedule is tight to allow full tournament structure to run, penalties for late arrival exist
  • playoffs will begin at 1:00pm sharp
  • the last round of games will be done by 5:00pm sharp
  • play will be rain or shine, if there is extremely heavy rain or the presence of thunder or lightening in the area, play will be suspended until the fields are deemed safe by the tournament director (no one is to be on any field at that time!) This year we do have a "rain date" of Wed May 26th, this would be used in the event of severe weather leading up to and including the 20th. A decision to postpone would be made the day of Wed May 19th @ 3pm...but let's not even talk about it anymore...
  • all players must be eligible for OFSAA competition (see registration form)
  • the tournament will be run as a co-ed event, minimum of 3 of each gender on the field at a time, max of 7 players, each team is encouraged to bring at least 14 players (it will be a very long day!!)
  • all teams must follow the OFSAA guidelines for co-ed team travel
  • First aid services will be provided, attendants will be on site during the competition, however each team is to have the ability to escort serious injuries to the hospital (please do not have your team stranded on site without transportation)
